Infertility Risk Factors
Certain lifestyle and environmental factors increase the risk of infertility in both men and women:
- Smoking tobacco
- Excessive alcohol use
- Recreational drug use
- Obesity or being underweight
- Poor diet
- Chronic stress
- Lack of regular physical activity
- Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Exposure to environmental toxins
- Increasing age, especially for women after age 35.
